SIXTY ONE - [june 2] takota, simon dawes, and the colour at the alley. super good show. apparently andy is no longer in takota. interesting. they played a bunch of new stuff and they're starting to record i think. then more shows! haha. i love takota<3>
SIXTY TWO - [june 6 at the alley] forever in fall, peachcake, no one goes homeee. forever in fall was good, and cute and dance-y. peachcake was amusing as usual. the sound guy cut them off after like two songs, hahahaha. and no one goes home was wonderful as usual<3
SIXTY THREE - ultimate battle of the bands for YAT. june 8th. cory benjamin and friends, great as usual. they won! woo. narwhal played too<3>
SIXTY FOUR - june 14th at the alley - hemingway, craig, crap band, craig, city redefined. only really went for craig, but heminway was swell too. craig played mini acoustic sets between each band. i went with my dad, and he enjoyed it so i was stoked. :]
SIXTY FIVE - june 30th at chain - eye alaska, army of me, as tall as lions. fucking great show. eye alaska is always good. they played an old dld song, "divorce" and changed it up a little. that was cool. army of me was alright, good music but the vocals were kinda flat. and as tall as lions was wonderfulll. i liked them a lot. so many people were really into it and dancing around, it was very cool to watch. and since there were only three bands, the sets were longer so that was tight too. great show.
SIXTY SIX - honda civic tour, july 2nd in anaheim - cobra starship opened. i only knew two songs but they were swell. my boy called meeeee right before they were done. :] :] :] heh. we sat so high up. :[ paul wall played second. i listened to my mp3 player instead. :] muahah. anyway then the academy is.. played. they were wonderful as well. they played a few new songs i didn't know but lots from almost here too, so i was stoked. no down and out, sadly. anyway, then +44 went up. i only know two songs by them all that well but they played blink 182 as well and that was fucking awesome haha. last but most definitely not least, fall out boy was fucking amazing. i don't care how many obnoxious thirteen year olds love them and how many indie snobs hate them with a fiery passion. i fucking love fall out boy. that's all there is to it. they put on an amazing live show and they've got some powerful fucking music. they played a lot of songs from fuct and they played saturday, and a few from ioh of course. such a wonderful set. ohhh my god. i'd love to see them more often. and now i really wanna go to a few more big concerts cause as much as i love local shows, big concerts have such amazing energy. anyway, it was a great show. :]
SIXTY SEVEN - july 6th at chain - scarlet grey sucked. hahahaha i'm sorry. i laughed so hard. bristol to memory pwnd, as usual. haha they had a rough start but they pulled through. 5606 was pretty swell and i liked the city drive a lot. no one goes home was wonderful of course. they played "rebel rebel" to finish off their set. i wish they'd played "untitled autobiography" or at least "pour some sugar on me" but it's all good. any performance by them is fun. :] they're on tour again now until september. boooo. good show though.
SIXTY EIGHT - july 28th at hogue's - some rad band called blind bizzarre or something that i still never figured out played first. then the truebirdsss, cory ben and his sister. they were great. then.. apocalipstick. :[ ew. hahaha. then we left. the first two were good though!
SIXTY NINE - august first at plush cafe - a swt folk-style show with vast atlantic and machines make noise. vast atlantic was awesome. they had a banjo. i don't even listen to much folk but there were seriously rad. check them out plz.
SEVENTY - august twenty eighth at chain - dear and the headlights was swell. the singer reminded me a bit of jarrod gorbel from the honorary title with his singing, and the music was awesome. they got very into it to the point where you could almost tell they love being up there more than they care about the perfection of playing every note right. and it worked well. as tall as lions, i fucking love them. i was a little bummed they didn't play either of the two songs i wanted to hear but they were outstanding anyway. i honestly think they are one of my new favorite bands to watch live. awesome awesome show. we only stayed for a little bit of mae's set and i don't know their music all that well anyway, but they were still great. those three bands made a good combination and it was a fabulous show altogether.
