FIFTY ONE - YAT acoustikoff, feb23 at irvine fine arts center. thomas barrett with dale bachman and some rad kid on saxophone! plus mistaken angels.. err mistaking angels? i think mistaken. they were good. and shubs and pal was pretty sweet as well. cable car was fantastic. d!ce was entertaining, and the last guy, john obrian i think, was quite brilliant. the first song he played was "slide" by the goo goo dolls, so i was stoked. :] good show.
shFIFTY TWO - march 2nd at hogue's - cory benjamin's cd release showww. yeeeuhh. dale bachman opened. her voice amazes me. she's very talented. i forget who played after her. but anyway, cb&f was great obviously. they are so brilliant. and they all had real nice ties on. yeah, that's all. haha.
FIFTY THREE - march16th at khoury's in long beach - odd music festival thing. cory ben and friend, the jakes, bristol to memory, and espa were good. the venue however was crap. haha.
FIFTY FOUR - march 17th at the alley in fullerton - nogh's return shows<3>
FIFTY FIVE - march 23rd at chain reaction - hope departed was gooood. i liked them a lot. the appearance was alright, but kinda generic. eye alaska was fucking brilliant. obviously. their music so like.. universal? i don't know. it just makes me calm. which sounds ridiculous, but really. they're so intnese. and brandon is so energetic. haha. he cut his hair. it looks good. it was also takota's first headlining show. i know i say all of these bands are brilliant and amazing, but i really think takota will go somewhere. they are so good, they put on an excellent show, and they're just all-around awesome guys. definitely check them out.
FIFTY SIX - april 3rd at chain - secret handshake, valencia<3,>
FIFTY SEVEN - april 25 at the alley - no one goes home. haha i forget who else played. oh one band was called automatic love letter. they were pretty good. nogh was great of course. andd the outline. i liked them too. yupyup.
FIFTY EIGHT - april 27 at the alley - free acoustic show with nogh and hope departed and two other guys that played together. each act got two half hour sets. wonderful. :] nogh acoustic is always amazing. and i really like hope departed too. swt show.
FIFTY NINE - may 6th at chain reaction - the higher was wonderful. i love them a lot. name taken was fucking incredible. the energy was insane. i love shows purely for the moment when you look around and see how in tune everyone in the crowd is with everyone on stage, and to hear everyong singing along and screaming the lyrics and the whole audience moving as one big entity is just incredible. fantastic show.
SIXTY - may 16th at chain - bristol to memoryyy. swell as usual. new years day was pretty sweet too. i like them. ozma was alright but super loud and we left before they were done. i forget who opened.

shFIFTY - january seventh at chain - a bunch of crap bands, then bristol to memory! haha yay, they were great. especially considering rory was sick like the week before the show or something. but they sounded fantastic so i was happy. there was a band from NY called the hatch that actually wasn't bad.. they were just irritating to watch. they acted like they were god's gift to the [very small] audience. but meh. it was still fun.

first entry: show blog intro
I already have a list of shows I've been to on my myspace, but this site is growing on me so I figured I'd just add another blog here for show-reviewing. I'm not going to go back and edit all the shows I've already been to, so I'll just post those in groups of ten and then from now on I'll write a more formal synopsis of shows I attend.
Enjoy? :-)
Enjoy? :-)
